FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I get the empty bags?

They youth will be preparing the empty bags for pickup at the Woodgate chapel on Wednesday, September 17.  Your bags will be bundled with correct amount for your route.  The bags will have a doorknob hanger attached so you can hang them to the doors along your route.

Can I sign-up in person on Sunday?

Absolutely! This website is a tool so you can see the routes that are available and request a route.  By Sunday, some routes may be chosen online already, but you can still choose in person if you prefer.

Some of the routes are outside ward boundaries?

Yes, that is correct. This is a community-wide service project and the town has been divided randomly between 5 teams. Cimarron Ward is one of those valuable teams.

Are we sorting at the church?

No.  Each volunteer can conveniently drop off their route’s food donations directly at the food bank.  They have teams there ready to unload your vehicle and get you on your way.

Where do I take the collected donations?

Please drive directly to the Okotoks Food Bank after collecting your donations:

Okotoks Food Bank, #120 – 220 Stockton Avenue, Okotoks, Ab T1S 2C3

**Please DO NOT take donations to the church – thanks!

Why do I need to report my hours?

Volunteer hours and the number of souls helping provide valuable data for the Food Bank’s program budget. We can help by keeping track of the approximate number of hours spent on this service project.
